Katie Couric sat down for a recent interview with Comedienne Sarah Silverman. The two discussed her Comedy Central show "The Sarah Silverman Program," her difficult childhood, and the breakup with boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel. Well, I see you're one of the many who has a strong opinion on Rush, but never listens to him. I get Silverman's humor. My point is that, (using Limbaugh as an example), if someone the media regularly maligns were to make any jokes like Silverman they would be crucified. The MSM is blatantly bigoted, hypocritical, etc. etc. but I know arguing the point is silly and I apologize for wasting your time.

The difference is that Sarah writes this stuff being aware that it is offensive and racist and she says it to shock people and make them laugh, she's ENTERTAINING people. Rush Limbaugh well... unfortunately he spits stuff out of his mouth and he actually believes it to be true, he thinks he's INFORMING people.

Katie Couric sure asks some tough questions! A little bit prudishly rigid even? Strikes me as someone who never strayed much from the straight and narrow - someone raised in a VERY traditional, conservative family.
It makes for amusing exchanges between the comparatively lucid Sarah. I love watching Sarah's performances. She IS very endearing! I sometimes fantasize about just the two of us spending an afternoon high above the chimney tops in a hot air balloon gondola laughing at everything.

First of all, I love Sarah Silverman. Watching this report however, it occurred to me that if Rush Limbaugh had ever, EVER, said anything as offensive as what Sarah has said, Couric would be casually presiding over the inquest to have his head cut off. Fascinating.
