This is the theme 'Time of the Goddess' from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword played on the descant recorder, sometimes referred to more simply as a 'flute' - music for the game was composed by Hajime Wakai, Shibo Fujii, Mahito Yokota, Takeshi Hama and of course, the legendary Koji Kondo.

I recently got this game but have not yet had a chance to play it though. I'm a huge Zelda fanboy, so everytime a new Zelda comes out, its such a BIG thing for me that I like to take my time with the game, and play it at a nice relaxed pace - so I can't wait to get stuck into this one when the time is right :))) I've already heard some of the music from the game, and it sounds as though most of the tracks will be instant classics - like this one :) I thought that I would give it a try on the recorder, as its a fairly simple song - now my second recorder upload - lol :)

Personally, I think that the tone of my other recorder, the black one used in the Zorsy collab vid is much nicer, (this one sometimes sounds a bit flat?) but I wanted to play with this white one for the video as I thought that it was more 'Zelda'ish' :P

More Skyward Sword music to come very shortly - this time played on the piano: *thank goodness* the crowd sighs ^_____^

On a different note, for those of you who like to read, I've written a novel - a work of absurdist fiction which falls somewhere in between Alice in Wonderland and Kafka - which can now be found on Amazon Kindle. Here is a link to the US store. The book is also available in other territories too, like the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy etc. Check it out!

  • I'm playing through the game right now and I tend to agree with critics: it may well be the best 3D Zelda to date! I wish the Wii was a bit more capable graphics-wise, though. You quickly get used to it but the aliasing and depth-related artifacts are pretty horrible. Anyways, I look forward to hearing your piano interpretations, not that this was bad or anything :P

  • @3llianX hey hey - ahhhh, interesting - i've not heard anyone mention any niggles with the controls or aliasing etc - as i've pretty much only heard nothing but positive stuff about it! best ever 3D zelda...so better than Ocarina of Time?? (which was a life defining game for me i think!?) man, so looking forward to playing it...i need me a magical ocarina of time to enable me to squeeze in a few hours of it here and there though :/ wishing you the very best! :))))

  • Yes, I agree. The white recorder seems more "Zelda-ish." Also, whether you play Zelda music on your recorder or piano, I'm sure we'll still enjoy it ^^

With that said, I love Skyward Sword :D This piece too!!

  • @JezzAngel hey hey - thanks for the kind words - man, my recorder playing...haha, i love it even though i know that i'm terrible - but am glad that you guys don't seem to mind my posting :P ooo, so you're playing/have played skyward sword too? how's it going for you? i'm still yet to start. all the best ^_____^

  • @daigoro789 Loooool, you sound exactly like me when it comes to Chrono Cross! Sure, I'll start Ocarina of Time as soon as I can! Thanks for the recommendation!

  • @avitron142 lol - goodness! NO WAY that my recorder is better than your piano - that's just crazy talk! lol, tbh, i haven't yet played KH (i guess that's why i haven't uploaded any KH music yet) so i'd start with the zelda's and def OoT over Majora! many fans prefer majora to OoT, but in terms of an 'introductory' zelda game - to acclimatise you to the universe etc then OoT can't be beaten - playing that game was a life-changing experience for me, as cheesy as it sounds! PLAY IT ^_____^

  • @daigoro789 Thanx! You know, you're better on flute than I am on piano, so don't feel so bad. I have to admit, I have Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time and Majora's Mask, but don't really have time to play it. Do you think I should play those, or Kingdom Hearts first?

  • @daigoro789

Terrible?! You must be out of your mind! Haha, excuse me for saying so.

I'm terrible. I haven't touched a recorder since grade school but watching this makes me want to ^^

Right now I'm at Lake Floria. I feel like I'm taking forever to finish it but it's hard to find time to play sometimes. All the best to you too! Hope you're able to start soon!

  • @avitron142 hey hey - loooo - yeah, you're not wrong, i do def try to cram in as much as i can in a day, but for sure, i think like alot of other people, i sure wish that there were more hours in the day to do even more stuff!!! like practise my very amateur recorder playing :/ you've been v.busy yourself lately too - i've been loving your vids man :)))

  • Author, piano and flute player, regular youtube uploader...(cough, cough) Yep, looks like somone is utilizing his 108 hours a day :D
