This box has made my "carving life" easier.(Thanks, Steve !)
When I travel to teach, or take a class, they don't "clang" together,
...when I leave, all are "accounted for".

  • holy cow dude how much did you spend on all that!!!

  • @danger5199 The box was a gift, it can hold several thousand dollars worth if you include 2 sets of mallet tools in the bottom. Only once, I did a rough estimate...it was over $3,000.00 so I went and bought insurance from "Smith & Wesson". I have been buying & winning carving tools since I was 18-19 yrs. old. But the joy this box of tools holds is priceless to say the least. Please look at the video responses, you can build a smaller box that will suit your needs easily.

    Thanks,

  • @DADDIO630 thanks allen it was inspired but an awesome one as well

  • @allengoodman69 This was very helpful, I will be doing small projects so the small sizes will suit me I guess, I have seen the flex cut recommended often and I think that would be a wise choice. Sounds like a v-tool and "U" gouge in a size proportionate to the project would be useful tools, I already have a couple good knives for carving! Thanks for the reply : )

  • @practicalbeing I always tell folks that Flexcut tools work well as they arrive sharp & ready to carve while not breaking the bank. Besides a knife,if I have a 1/4'' # 11 or a "U" gouge and a 1/4'' V-tool,I can do a lot of different projects. This is always a hard question for me as folks may want to carve bigger or different styles like relief carving. The one thing that holds true, try to always purchase the best you can afford, you get what you pay for in the end.

    Hope this helps,

  • @TheMessydate They are called palm handled carving gouges, more suited for smaller hand held carving. They are all different brands such as Swiss Made,Flexcut,Ramelson,Henry Taylor,Gil Drake.

    Hope this helps,
