This is a song I love by Portishead called Roads. I have edited it with the brilliant film The Rainmaker, which is based on a John Grisham novel.

  • This powerful video speaks to me at so many levels. For starters, I've always preferred this live Roseland NYC performance (which I've got on CD but never seen the footage of before) of this achingly poignant song 'Roads' even to the excellent original version from Portishead's exceptional debut album 'Dummy'. And you've matched it so sensitively and strikingly well to 'The Rainmaker' at every scene / moment, such that the total effect is just devastatingly beautiful to my mind...well done!

  • @TheReplenishingFlame Thankyou for your kind comments, I'm glad you like it. I was really pleased with how it turned out x

  • What can I say - you've just proved that your creative imagination for mixing music & image on your first video was no fluke. Really, really well done, this makes me feel very, very proud!

  • @vibesinthesky thanks vibes/dad, wonder where I get it from ;-), luv ya xxxxx

  • Whoa! You know you've done well when a sad song/sad video can give you good vibes! The guy (abuser) made me angry. I especially liked the part with the re-verb of the instruments and the police lights flickering in harmony. Good song choice, good movie, and much better than a beginners second video...one would have never guessed...

  • @karp821 Thankyou very much, it is a sad song and video but the music and films I usually like tend to lean that way so I will try my best to make some happier one's at some point, can't promise anything though lol xxx

  • I have watched a lot of vids with Portishead soundtracks recently and this is very engrossing. Not just Beth but the movie content is well chosen. (well I think the scenes were well chosen?) I mean the scenes are quite long sections, slow without too much action (except the fight), concentrating on the faces and expressions, creates the right sort of tense atmosphere for the song. More vids like this would be cool!

  • @77destinyrules sorrow is the drug : )
