Yet again, So F**king Rock proves itself the better DVD, with this version of Tim's discourse on Religion and his favorite little fish, Tony.

*I am now an Atheist, actually...*

I think it goes without saying that Evolution has essentially been proven, with Natural Selection being the most plausible explanation of things within Evolution, and I even agree with the Big Bang Theory.

So I thought I'd up this for truth...

  • Hey, quick question: What is Tim's exact religious stance? I know he mocks religion and doesn't believe in gods, but is he an atheist, or is he one of these anti-theist people? I really hope not, but obviously having never met the guy...

I mean, I see a lot of people commenting on his videos about how stupid religion is and stuff, as if it were their mission to debunk and destroy religion, but Tim seems like a really smart, decent bloke. Is he like that too?

  • @AGenericMoron Tim is an atheist who just happens to think that religion is not somehow "above criticism". I wouldn't say he's an antitheist persay, but he's also not going to accord respect to anyone who hasn't *earned* it. He has no problem covering so-called "controversial" topics, especially when those topics (like religion, evolution, etc) should *not* be controversial.

  • @jimmyRRpage the guy seems very intelligent and scientific. I'd say he's agnostic; but finds the idea of a god silly. (like most sane people). tim minchin f'ing rocks. Never thought i'd enjoy pianosongs and stuff. Damn his immense talent!

  • @PainSurgeon Tim Minchin is an atheist. He does not believe in a higher power or powers. Everyone alive is agnostic on the question of God's existence (regardless of what they say) because we don't know enough about the Cosmos to answer that question definitively yet. But that does not rule out a belief stance. Hence, Tim is an atheist.

  • @jimmyRRpage did you seriously just say that evolution is a controversial topic comparable to religion? The only thing about evolution that is controversial is the intellect of the one who thinks it's anything less than a solid fact.

  • @gabberis Unfortunately, Evolution is controversial. Not because it's wrong (it most certainly isn't), nor because it lacks evidence (it's the most well-evidence fact/theory in all of science). It's controversial because, at least in the US, over 40% of people refuse to believe it and will do anything to get it kicked out of the science classroom.

discourse with a GOD who was created by man to explain the existence of feet in the absence of the knowledge of the existence of TONY."

  • @ciaochowbella pow!

  • @gabberis don't try to fight the ones that are determined in illogical stupid ideas; they will vanish like the weak ones in evolution

  • @jimmyRRpage nice :D i wish i knew friends like tim minchin. my friends really are nonreligous, all of them , but only like one or 2 of them speak out against religion. Tim Minchin really is a voice of intelligence we need. And yes, it's logical this honor belongs to comedians, the ones who make us laugh at our misery, our fauilts, put them in perspective and deal with them without becoming illogally angry. Laughter is the one thing that humanity needs to learn psychological growth.

I see a lot of people whose mission is to practice and spread religion, but you seem like a really smart, decent bloke. Are you like that, too? I certainly hope not.

  • I didn't know Alexi Laiho was a comedian lol :p
