this is becuase you have not HEALED the root cause in the damaged neuroendocrine system. Many who quit drinking unknowingly CONTINUE the damage to this very delicate system responsible for NATURALLY sufficiently self-medicating you with the natural feel goods (beta endorphins, serotonin, GABA and dopamine. We are not encouraging you to drink after healing this system either. When CURED - you do not desire to drink because you are symptom free. That is the misconception about a true cure.

And I totally agree that the court system should NOT mandate people to go to AA meetings. If they don't want to be there to begin with, it'll only instigate more resentments and victimhood. Send them to an out-patient clinic. Anything but AA. The program is for people who actually want to be there, not forced to go there.

Me too thats the main reason why i left the "program" Also it is a well known fact to people who have worked in mental health or related fields that if you tell someone they have a disorder such as schitzphrenia, bi-polar, etc... the patient will often mimic the behavior of the "illness" they are told they have even when they dont actually have it.

AA is religon based cult that will lie to you do what ever it takes to make you come back for ever ...i think 101 is comeing in to replases this snake oil aa is going to be hisorty very soon...so stay away and do a 10 program insted

This would explain the reason I was hospitalized for suicidal thoughts ten days ago. I remember thinking, it would be better o die at my own hands, cuz that kills anyway.

5 * ... it is my expirience with aa/xa ...

my sponsor had 2 sponies that made suicide... aa made me feel bad and full of lies for 3 years... nobody there with a good life

Yes, like some people here have said already, XA is not even a support group. They will not support you. They will imply either directly or indirectly that all your problems are your own fault, no matter what it is. Now, I'm all for being responsible for your life. However there are situations where there are clearly victims, not just playing victims. XA will have you believe that if you got robbed or molested, you had a part in it because you chose to walk through that park or street.
