The end of BBC1's Boxing Day, and the all-too-brief appearance of the Christmas ident (it wasn't unveiled until evening on Christmas Eve). Andy Cartledge helps the festive globe sneak out quietly.

  • The globe looks like it fell off its axis!

  • i live in usa and your telly is silly and well out off date

  • @joannedj1 They did in 1983 and 84. - a snowflake background in 83 and snow on top of the clock hands in 84.

  • Festive globe sneaking out quietly? How can it sneak out quietly when it's spinning round to the national anthem?! lol! Nice Christmassy theme during the anthem, but I do think the Beeb could've made their clocks more festive, though. Perhaps they should've put a holly wreath around them?!

  • The voice of the balls is on radio 2 through the night.

  • You didn't get the boxing day closedown from 1988

  • Hope you upload the BBC1 closedown from 1974 i'd loved to see that and more videos. Thanks for requesting this one !!
