This is the first part of my 1st tutorial in Maya....I attempt to show how U Lay out UV maps for your model and eventually add color. Hope U find it useful

how do u add a texture to ur object like from ur pictures?

@cenetor69 You want to double click on the Material, Then Click on the checker box next to color...Select file...Then nrowse for the picture U want...Hope that helped.
