The Kia Sedona delivers space for seven, great safety scores and an impressive warranty, all for a low price. However, to many reviewers, it seems that whatever the Sedona does, its competitors do better.
The Kia Sedona makes a great choice for minivan shoppers who put value above everything else. While other minivans are stronger performers, or have nicer interiors, the Sedona has the lowest price in its class, as well as the longest warranty and some very impressive crash test scores. Other minivans may offer more luxury and features, but the Sedona offers the chance to make a few extra deposits in the kids' college savings.
Despite the value it offers, reviewers have a hard time recommending the Sedona wholeheartedly. The consensus seems to be that while the Sedona is a fine minivan, and a great value, the other vans in the class simply offer more -- more space, more features, more performance and more style. If you want to see what more looks like, check out the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna. Both cost more than the Sedona, but are more popular with reviewers. Even though the Sedona is outmatched in the minds of many reviewers, others concede that it's worth a look, given its strong value equation.
The Sedona's last redesign was 2006, and the 2010 model carries over with few changes since that time. The seven-seater minivan is available in three trims: the base model, the LX and EX. The LX and EX models have a longer wheel base and more interior room than the base. With the discontinuation of the Hyundai Entourage, the Kia Sedona is the value player in the minivan class, and has the longest warranty.
