After Butler's death, they tried to find a replacement voice for the character; but the actor's delivery was off... he sounded a bit too goofy for my liking.

The voice of Cap'n Crunch was done by voice-actor Daws Butler; who, because of his contracts with Hanna-Barbera (portraying Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, etc.) and Walter Lantz (Smedley the dog in the Chilly Willy cartoons), never got any voice credit in any of Jay Ward's TV shows.

The guy who plays the captain sounds like he's on something

That's Yogi Bears' voice!

0:49 These green alien guys look like the Moon Men from Rocky and Bullwinkle, but also resemble Quisp from the old Quisp and Quake commercials.

@handinside Yes they did. The Cap'n stops in to the store and introduces the cereal.

One of the munchers looked like Wilma Flintstone.

When my wife goes on a business trip, instead of having an affair, I just sneak out to the grocery store and buy a box of Cap'n Crunch, making sure to finish it and hide the empty box deep in the trash before she gets home.

Capt. Crunch was great for breakfast and also as a topping for vanilla ice cream, with a drizzle of butterscotch.
