first piece is a tie crane, im not sure but it looks like its the one that distributes the new ties to the second through fourth machines which are TRI's or Tie Remover/ Inserter machines. Fifth piece is a Tie Plate Broom, which cleans off the track, and the ends of the ties, so that laborers can place the tie plates on the tie ends, for the 6th and 7th pieces, which are Plate Jacks, they lift the rail, and machine operators, manually slide the places back under the rail, on the new ties.
