Sounds like the same one they "performed" on TV in '67. So was this recorded for that show, or is this really the lost first take (which, if so, they somehow used on that show?)

I like the box set's remix of "Baby Don't Scold Me". Listening to that and this remix just makes me think of them blastin' away with their 3 guitars and their raga riffs to a bunch of dancin' kids at the Whiskey A Go-Go in 1966 with teenagers filling the Sunset Strip.

Neil Young's version is way too good, and almost sounds a lot like him if you close your eyes for a second. I guess it only makes sense since NY wrote it.

If I recall, this version was recorded live in the studio around January 1967. It was Neil's favorite but, evidently, the original acetates were lost/damaged (as can be heard here). It took some effort, I guess, restoring them to a semblance of listenability.

I confess to mucho digging it. The guitar break is different and, in my view, better. The fact that it's live, given the shitty recordings of them in concert, gives a really good view of just how powerful they could be on stage.
