You're on board with Rhys Howell, rider for Bendigo Senior Secondary College's "Squirrel Grip Racing", at the 2010 RACV Energy Breakthrough.
Rhys pedalled the Lap Record in this vehicle in 2010 of 1:41.1 (1.34 km track - 47.76km/h average speed)

We caught up with Rhys to ask him about the record and the riding:

1/ How did it feel to set the fastest lap - ever - around the RACV Track?
Well firstly, it was really a big credit to Bendigo Seniors vehicle that made it feel stable enough at high speed to travel around corners as fast as it did. Which all added together to achieve that time. So it felt pretty good to show that all the hard work over the course of the year payed off.

2/ Did you have any idea you were going that fast?
Had a pretty good idea that it was going fast, but I was still a bit supprised when I heard what the lap time was.

3/ Where did you learn to ride / steer so well?
I first started driving when I was 12 and eventually got into circuit racing. Although there is a difference between race cars and bikes similar principles apply with racing lines. Also we did a lot of testing in the bike prior to the race. Which meant I was able to get familure with the vehicle before hand.

4/ What tips would you give other racers who are taking part this weekend?
Give it everything you've got, and remember its a team sport so encourage your team mates.
