Part 5: The Blind Halls & The Mad Mage in my Diablo - Rogue walkthrough.

The third and final quest I do in the Catacomb series is the Blind Halls, which is triggered by reading the Book of the Blind on level 7. Reading this book unlocks a previously sealed room, which in turn has two smaller rooms within. In this large room, are invisible enemies who only appear just before they attack, they attack slow though, so you should kill them before they manage to hit you. The Optic Amulet is nice, but I don't really need it.

The next set of quests involve the Cave segment of the dungeon, you'll get to do 2/3 of these. Oddly enough, one of the two I do is started and finished on level 8, which is still the Catacomb section. You might find Zhar the Mad Mage on level 8, and he will give you a Spellbook. You can leave the room to end the quest, or attempt to take a book from the shelves, at which point he'll attack. He's weak, and the quest will end after you kill him, so it's worth it for the additional book.

The part ends at the beginning of the Cave segment, and you'll see quite a big jump in difficulty here.
