For me its not what they sound like. Its the whole experience of an actual tangible piece of hardware you can touch taste smell and feel as well as the only two things you can do with a VST IE see and hear.
Having that electricity coursing thro an instrument below your finger tips is so inspiring.
Prob with VSTs and DAWs is why all music seem to sound identical these days. Same old VSTs, Same old DAWs, same old methods. No the wonder no one buys music anymore.

Powerful piece. The bass and filter sweeps are nice. It's really cool you performed this live.
I heard the flub at 2:41 :-) It took some balls to play right on through and post the video anyway. A more picky person would have driven himself nuts over an endless course of retakes to get it "perfect" (more_picky_person == me).

I don't agree, I just got a sq-80 and it sounds different from the plugin. The filters are much more aggressive.

I just purchased an ESQ-1, so this video is very inspirational (just waiting for my battery to arrive because right now I keep losing my patches whenever I switch it off) :-)
