1998 Apple iMac commercial emphasizes the uniqueness of the computer and the ease of use by playing off Robert Frost's "Road Not Taken" by saying that when presented with a choice, the Apple iMac user took the faster, simpler, less expensive and more colorful road. The implication that an iMac is the road less well traveled is implied.
Simpler, all-in-one computers, especially in the form of notebook computers, would rise to the the dominant form of microcomputer sold over the next few years.
