Charles Darwin Versus John Calvin

The year 2009 is the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin and the 500th anniversary of the birth of John Calvin. At the Reformation 500 this year, people from all over the nation gathered in Boston to see these two influential men face-off in a debate over theology, science, politics, and other worldview issues.

All men deserve condemnation and punishment for sin. God chose to have mercy on some of us while he shows his wrath on the rest. It is God's plan and it doesn't matter whether you or I think God is being fair by not saving everyone. He is free to love who he will, just as you and I are free to do the same. Do you love the teller at your bank as much as your own mother or wife? No! We have different kinds of love and we discriminate. God is free to love whom he pleases, as well.
