  • Hi Robert, thanks for your comment!

You can use any encoder that will fit, as it is merely a breakout board. However the exact model I used is 102-1764-ND, I bought it from digikey.

  • Nick:

I have my Rotary Encoder working beautifully on a Duemilanova, but when I hook it up (using the same sketch and pins) to my Arduino Mega 2560, using the same sketch and the same pins, it does not work. The button press LED comes on, but the the rest of the ring never comes on. I've checked everything carefully, but I can't figure out why it works consistently on the Duemilanova but it doesn't work on the Mega. Do you have any clues?

  • Thank you. I've ordered a few of the Digikey parts.

  • Nick,

Great demo. I have purchased the encoder LED ring. Please provide a link or source to the rotary switch you're using in your demo.
