  • jeez 2 weeks after the mare gives birth? poor thing i know its a buisness and you have to be quick, but cmon she needs a break

  • @AnywhereButHere09 Last time I checked adults are not immune to ignorance. I have worked with OTTBs, been to the backside, and have good friends that work at tracks so I'd say I have enough info to make an informed decision. Whether I'm 14 or 40 doesn't make a difference because I will never base my opinions off of animal rights people that don't have any experience with horses and only want racing banned because they don't want animals around people at all.

  • DEVILSHIREproduction I am with you all the way I rodeo and barrel race and I have had many off the track thoroughbreds that I rodeo and barrel race on and every single one is either still here or died on my property those horses are not slaughter house horses slaughter house horses are older horses that are done in and are from auctions yeah I know it sounds bad but.......also you obviously aren't in the horse world much Anywherebuthere09 and alot of thoroughbreds are sent to either be bred or

  • @DEViLSHiREproduction You are too young to know the truth. With time, you will.....

  • @AnywhereButHere09 Not true. Some are slaughtered but not most. 80% of slaughter horses are not Thoroughbreds, they are backyard bred horses. At least the racing industry produces horses that are athletic and will generally be good sport horses whereas backyard breeders usually don't. And it's not about the money because trainers hardly make anything & knew this when they decided to become trainers. They work with horses because they love them and they want to find them good homes.

  • @DEViLSHiREproduction Wrong. Most ARE sent to slaughter... it is, after all. a business. : (

  • @Horses4ever8 Well if in the wild the mare does the same thing out of her own free will it can't be too bad. And the broodmares get the best care possible so I think they are fine.

  • @DEViLSHiREproduction doesnt mean its easy on the mare

  • @imatroll5 Very few racehorses are slaughtered. Most trainers would never do that and when the horse is done racing they breed it or find it a good home.

  • @Horses4ever8 I know it sounds wrong but in the wild that's what happens.

  • Nice way to supply horse meat to Europe and Japan.
