This video is on my thin natural hair and things I am doing to help improve the state of it. I am currently on Spironolactone 100mg tablets and getting steroids shots in my scalp where the hair does not seem to be growing. I will keep you posted on the outcome of the treatments.

  • ...thanks for that info...I love all ur vids

  • @miltonmarie No problem. Thanks for subbing!

  • Well I have beta thalassemia minor (severely anemic, genetic blood disorder) and I have thick, cottony fine strand 4a hair. I didn't know iron deficiency could effect your hair.

  • @miltonmarie Yeah, when I take iron supplements, I notice a tremendous difference in my hair. I currently take a multivitamin and 2 iron tablets per day. In addition, I take a hair, skin and nail tablet (when ever I can remember to get my refill).

  • I have very thin hair at the top and i went to a dermatologist last month and had a scalp biopsy and blood work done. He told me that the lack of iron was causing my thinning. He prescribed a shampoo and foam for my hair. I normally flat iron my hair so since I have been banned from that for awhile I wear wigs and ponytails.

  • @paytonja If you were diagnoised with lack of iron, then that is a blessing because it is easily fixable. Hopefully over time you shall see some improvement. I did notice that when I was taking my iron & pills is when I was seeing some growth. I will probably go back to them in the near future. Keep me posted on your growth!

  • I have the same problem. However my balding occured in the center of my scalp. My dermatologist diagnosed me with traction alopecia. So I also get steroid shots in my scalp. But also, I do an onion treatment. Doing both at the same time has made the center grow back faster. It's not fully there yet but it's getting there. I'm 21 :)

  • @nalia1908 thank you, it was amazing to find out how much that played a part. All of my levels were extremely low, so now I am on so many vitamins. I will definitely keep you posted and look forward to seeing your progress as well.

  • @blkbeaute I know the feeling. I don't do any small braiding anymore. I do large cornrows now if I want to wear a wig.

  • @tikatay1 The style in this video is a twist out. It was parted down the middle and I fluffed the hair and tried to hid the middle part.
