  • I'm a big George Shearing fan ... having collected his albums at flea markets, thrift stores, and garage sales.

  • @motorbiker63 Thanks for your comments and for viewing.

  • That is wonderful. Mr Shearing did a wonderful arrangement. I remember seeing him for years as a child and teen at Mondavi and Paul Masson jazz concerts.

  • Thanks for viewing and your kind comments.

  • I love Shearing's arrangement of Amazing Grace. The harmonies towards the end are just extravagant. Thank you for your interpretation. This small collection of American hymn tunes by Shearing is "amazing" and well worth the effort.

  • Certainly agree.

Greetings to you in MI from NJ.

  • Beautiful! Where can I get a copy of the music for this? I'm an organist at Friedens United Church of Christ in Sumneytown, PA and a jazz pianist and Shearing is one of my all-time favorites. I had no idea he did this lovely setting of Amazing Grace. You did a marvelous job on it and I've enjoyed some of your other videos with the timpanist.

  • Thanks for your comments and for viewing.

  • Nice but the background chord patch could have been louder behind your nice right hand solo. Great job!
