You cannot look at him as a guitar player with a solo ability. He is just a song writer. Don't give him more credit then that. He doesn't do anything but play chords and sustain notes. There is nothing difficult about this and it doesn't require any real talent to do what he does. God you people are fucking tools.

Why don't you give me some examples of some amazing percussion by Peart then?
Amazing rock drummers are Carl Palmer, Phil Collins, John Bonham, Stewart Copeland. I'm sorry I can't count Neil in the same league.

@degree7 Maybe you are just musically ignorant and can't except the fact that Neil Peart is the greatest percussionist of all time. The stuff they play is out of this world and i am assuming you don't play an instrument, because if you did you would know how fucking hard it is to come up with music that is a 100th of what they made.

@GhettoGinny It takes no real talent to do what he does? It takes more than talent. It's a God given gift that he can do what he does. He learned how to not over complicate things and make what's called music, instead of pointless shredding that anyone who can build muscle memory can do. The edge is a brilliant guitar player. To call him "just a songwriter" is stripping him of what he spent so many years working for. Apparently he's doing something right, his band packed out the rose bowl.
