1 word: convoluted.

It sounds like someone is squeezing his nuts.

Ah v1 complainers sound like a bunch of babies when somebody took their rattle. Put '11 on old Dex GX280, upgraded the RAM to 2GB and installed in less than 30 mins. Had connector install on two clients in another 45 mins. HTPC was the problem child, but it seems okay now. TV Archive was with $60, automatically moves content to the server.

@gcoupe1 Haven't you heard of updates?

@shawnebrown Can you say no functionality with Windows Media Center? I thought you could. Linux is fine if you don't mind a learning curve and no GUI unless you use Amahi. If your a command line freak , Linux is fine. But its not easy to set automated client back ups with Linux. Linux has limited support of AMD hardware as well.

@no3rdw I'm really annoyed about the loss of DE. But "all useful aspects of WHS are gone"? C'mon. If the entire value of WHS was in DE, it's hard to believe you ever chose it in the first place. Hyperbole is not the way we're going to help the WHS product team build what we want to buy.

had to listen to this crap again.... this sounds like freak'in windows ME...

can you say LINUX?

Wow, Vail, or should we say Fail, will not be used in my house. This is a complete and utter waste of so many resources it's mind staggering.
It is painfully apparent, MS simple does not care about what it's customers want in a product. The stench of arrogance is so thick now its appalling.
Removing one of the most important technologies in WHS will only lead to it's inevitable demise.
What are you thinking about MS?

Without drive extender I'm looking for a replacement for my home server.
If you had kept Drive Extender, then most of this video would be unnecessary and totally irrelevant.

So, no more drive pooling because Drive Extender was removed. All useful aspects of WHS are gone with this new version. Nice job killing the platform.
