ELO - Edinburgh 16 December 1981 - my first ever concert and still the best - still have the ticket stub. You don't get gigs like this now for £8.50!!!

@jeffmoppi Well you're right on one part, and partially right on the other, They are indeed counting in German, the vocals however are shared between Jeff Lynne and Kelly Groucutt :)

it's a fact that some of the live at wembley they are lip syncing...listen to standing in the rain, sounds exactly like the record...it is in fact from the album...some of the other stuff is live

@Kohntarkosz I have the DVD of them at Wembley, and there are no backing tracks. ANd how do you know what they can and cant play while running around on stage? Go back and look at the performances they did on small stages in 1973.... they were going nuts and it was all real.

@lonstar70 Maybe not on the Time tour, but they were definitely using backing tapes on the Out Of The Blue tour. The cellists were running back and forth onstage like heavy metal guitarists. There's no way they could have been playing their instruments with any kind of accuracy while bouncing around the stage like that. And there's no way they could have gotten those big vocal harmonies with just Jeff and Kelly singing live.
3.24- I remember reading about the Robot on stage for this tour. He used to roam around during songs. I can't remember his name. Does anyone out there remember ?

His name was Fred The Robot voicing the "Prologue" and "Epilogue".

If this was in recorded in Scotland, then why is the crowd counting down in German? And if this is ELO, why does the singer not sound like Jeff Lynne at all? I guess it's "the Orchestra" or "ELO Part II" or something like that.

This was performed by the Electric Light Orchestra Live At Sporthalle - Koln - Germany.
Jeff Lynne and Kelly Groucutt with Dave Morgan are singing the vocals. The pictures in the slide show are from the various tour locations.
