  • BellissimoooOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  • Gallois does it so well! He's a total inspiration and virtuoso.

  • @Graciousie Well obviously it's not just moving your lips that makes the difference, support is hugely important too. To play in a higher octave you need to increase the air pressure - if you do that by just blowing harder then you'll end up going horribly sharp, which is why you need to decrease the size of the embouchure by pushing your lips forward. Equally, to play more quietly, you need to push less air through while maintaining pressure - again, by pushing the lips forward.

  • @Bezla142857 Although i agree with both of you, you dont necessarily need to move your lips to change note ranges, pitches etc - any good flautist will use a combination of embrouchure and support not just from the diaphragm but from loads of other places.... mess around on the flute for a while and hopefully you'll see what i mean

just saying, not trying to start anything

  • This video has helped me greatly in understanding Godard's piece. Thank you so much for posting!! Brava!

  • "oh look at me, i play this at breakfast, even in my sleep, it's soooo easy"

  • @ryankO0sh Do you even play the flute? Of course your lips have to move - how do you think you change octave, or change dynamics - magic?

  • @bomberdils there's a reason for that. if he moved his mouth his tonality would change and the performance would suffer. its a habit flutists have to overcome, the mouth must not change even the tiniest bit or the sound will suffer. notice how even when he moves his flute emphatically his head moves perfectly with it :)

  • seems like he does not play this ^^ its like a joke.. look at his mouth :DD it does not move... never! ahahahaha

    but awsome of course ;)
