Judo as a child and I learned when I studied Physical Education, but my passion is karate, which I have dedicated many years of my life. This technique (Uchi Mata), I have applied in actual combat, but otherwise ensuring first with some kind of blow to the face.

But I think he meant that judo is more a defensive ma when compared to karate ( example )
I am NOT saying it is bad, but judo is widely known ( in my country ) as a self defence arts.
