**Since there is a lot of confusion about this video, let me further explain to make it clear. This particular barbell itself is what I refer to by Koklyaev tying Alexeev's record. Alexeev was the only person to lift this amount of weight on this exact bar, until Koklyaev matched him with this lift of 501lbs**

Mikhail Koklyaev becomes only the second man in history to lift this historic barbell. This is a 501lb Clean & Jerk. This bar was used by Alexeev in 1970 before olympic bumper plates and rotating bars were created.

This lift took place on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the 2009 Arnold Classic.

  • Mikhail Koklyaev is one of the strongest men in history. Fact...

  • @muzimuzi Why talk such shit on youtube? The world record in the clean and jerk is 580 pounds. These "people" you know would be far and away some of the strongest people on the planet.

Also yes it is harder. Read the description.

  • @SCHOFFY7007

you mean in training he hasnt "cleaned" yet?

  • @suparpowers true!! thanks for the reminder

  • @viking8316 yeah dont forget hes a olympic weightlifter, strongman and powerlifter. not just 1 one of those 3...

  • @PulstreiberTV a non rotating bar is a lot harder to lift because the plates will cause the bar to want to keep rotating thus torquing it. However, I think the description is wrong. That is a rotating bar.

  • this is not a non-rotating bar. If it was a non-rotating bar the plates would spin when he racked it, which they don't. Some of you guys make 1970 sound like the ice age. Olympic-style lifting wasn't invented last week.

  • @PulstreiberTV that you can't put the bar on your chest that easily the pressure on the arm is brutal and you can't just bend your wrists, like apollon's axle, it's rly difficult the bar becomes awkward

  • Ok, I read the description, I read all comments but I can´t figure out what makes it harder to lift a non rotating bar?

  • @MultiTrollHunter And a lot training... cuz you can have all the roids from around the world, but if you don't work on the technique and train hard theres not going to be a difference...
