This is a simple one transistor booster I built that for some reason gives me a super heavy fuzz sound. Of course it may be because the transistor that I used has "A666" stamped on it!?!?! I kid you not! The transistor part number is A666! I should have known that it wouldn't be an every day, average, polite booster. In the video, I first play a little with just my guitar and amp so you can hear the sound I'm starting with. Then I click on the fuzz. I'm sure you can tell when that happens. I think it sounds very much like Tony Iommi's tone on Black Sabbath's "Master of Reality" album. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

  • Thanks guys! I was pretty happy with how it came out -- and I really have no idea what I'm doing with designing circuits!! It's pretty much a textbook single transistor booster, but I did something "wrong" somewhere (misbiased, DC offset, something). But thanks for the comments!
