In September 2009, we drove to Wawa to escape the city for a long weekend.
9 hours drive but, it was well worth it!
We made our ?camp? at High Falls Motel and Cabins, just outside of Wawa.
For a little more than the price of a serviced campsite in an Ontario park, we got to stay in well kept, clean, heated, fully equipped log-house cabin!
We were not interested in fishing, hunting, hiking, ATVing or kayaking the area offers
We just wanted peace and quiet and we found it in abundance!
We explored the area ? stunning sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters of the Lake Superior
Naturally, we had to see the Wawa goose
and a local store full of wonders
Our wonderful hosts directed us to falls
and to a place to see black bears
and to a place for mushroom picking
and to a place full of sweet blueberries
and they helped to make it a memorable trip.
Thank you Anna and Zenon
We will be back!
