The 730-foot Canadian bulk carrier Canadian Leader exchanges salutes with the mail boat J.W. Westcott II (heard first) at the Ambassador Bridge, Detroit, Michigan, Sept. 2008.

The Leader was the last Great Lakes vessel built as a steamer (1967). She served the Papachristidis fleet of Quebec under the name Feux-Follets from 1967 to 1972, and thereafter sailed under her present name for Upper Lakes Shipping of Toronto. In November 2010 she was towed to Port Colborne, Ontario where she will be dismantled for scrap.
