"Homo Domesticus" is een interactief environment. De bezoeker komt in een ruimte waarvan de vloer opgehoogd is met houten palletten. Daarin zijn twee uitsparingen gemaakt waarin van bovenuit geprojecteerd wordt. Via een console kan de bezoeker kiezen uit handelingen die hij de zgn "Homo Domesticus" wil laten uitvoeren.
De "Homo Domesticus" is een virtuele mensensoort, "veroordeeld" tot huiselijkheid binnen een kartonnen ruimte van amper een vierkante meter.
Het werk werd voor het eerst gecreëerd in de galerieruimte van Fst Forward te Antwerpen (sep-okt 2003), en daarna o.a. op het Moving Arts Festival te Tilburg.

"Homo Domesticus" is an interactive environment. The visitor enters a space with a hightened floor by means of wooden pallets. Two holes have been cut out in the wooden floor into which video is projected. A remote control console allows the visitor to choose from a set of actions he wants the so-called "Homo Domesticus" to carry out.
The "Homo Domesticus" is a virtual human species, "condemned" to domestic life in a cardboard space of nearly 1 square metre.
The installation was first created in the "Fst Forward" video-art gallery in Antwerp (Sep-Okt 2003), and was presented later at the Moving Arts Festival in Tilburg, The Netherlands.
