Here's a demo of a great sounding little drum machine from the mid-70's, the Korg MiniPops 35! Sounds cool, right? This is part of the ever-growing collection of vintage pieces at http://www.bigcitymusic.com

This particular drum machine is not for sale but there is plenty of other great vintage stuff available.

  • I own a TR-66 "Rythm Arranger". It sounds a bit like this machine, but maybe a bit more versatile. You can actually press two or more buttons at once and get mutant beats. And if you open it up, you can adjust the sounds with little trims... the kick will sustain and ring like it's an 808! I love these old beasts!

  • That sounds like fun. Yes, there is something very sweet about old beat boxes.

  • I am starting to really appreciate analog, perhaps a bit late!

  • It's never too late. ;-)

  • Beautiful.

  • @seifukusha according to "Never Stop" by Tony Fletcher and "Turquoise Days" by Chris Adams, Will's drum machine (which was never singled out as Echo until later, the name came whole from a list suggested by a roommate of Ian's) was a Minipops Junior. There's a demo of one here on YouTube uploaded by retrosound72.

  • bought one today at a flea market for 3€ in great condition.
