Brilliant

@theresawayout don't get me wrong, that's a good song, one of only a few worthy/decent Coldplay songs, but still a rip off.
-
@NamesR4Nerds Umad? anyone with ears can clearly hear how ripped off most of that song especially the bassline is.

1:30 Unhh!

1000th like! Muahahaha. Such a cool song. I want to stroll down a lit up avenue, with a cigarette in one hand, and my girl on the other.

@alcohalls That would be obvious. Gainsbourg never produced or wrote the arrangements for his records.
He never played instruments on it too. He would sit at the piano, writing lyrics and music. Not more.
Very talented lyricist and songwriter. But half of his talent comes from his arrangers (which at that moment, means also producer) :
Alain Goraguer
Michel Colombier
Arthur Greenslade
Jean-Claude Vannier
When you think of Gainsbourg in the 60's and early 70's, always remember those names.

the banjo interlude is orgasmic. genius. who would have thought to have such a sick instrument-part compose that part of the song? fucking amazing.
