ME MUDDER WARNED ME ABOUT THESE CORK WOMEN. JESUS, SHE DID. SHE SAID IF ONE OF THEM ASKS ME FOR A LIGHT TO RUN AND TO KEEP RUNNING. I'M A GOOD, HOLY, IRISH CATHOLIC, YOU SEE. FULL-BOOODED MALE. MASS EVERY DAY, STATIONS OF THE CROSS, NOVENA, COMMUNION,CONFESSION. AND I DO ALL THESE THINGS EVERY DAY. WHEN I TOLD THE PRIEST I HAD A HABIT OF WANKING, HE TOLD ME TO SAVE IT UP FOR MARRIAGE. BUT I DO, I SAID TO HIM. I HAVE GOT TWO BUCKETS FULL UNDER THE BED.
amen to all that!!

BY THE WAY: Some people are BORN to sing. they do NOT need training. if they get the voice-coaching thing, their natural voices are RUINED. that is why Margaret Barry hypnotised us with her pure voice. God's gift to her a nd she used it well. Oh, and margaret was a full-blooded corkonian!! now, i've heard about those cork women ..... !!

@emmaohare2008 DEAR EMMA: I love your great-granny singing THE LARK IN THE CLEAR AIR, accompanied by whoever. But Eileen Donaghy sang it UNACCOMPANIED and it was beee-uuu-tifu! Some songs actually sound BETTER without a musical accompaniment. Same with that lovely THE NEXT MARKET DAY.
I heard a police/garda lady singing it unaccompanied recentlly and it was moving. I moved my bowels. Seriously, though, MB and ED are still my 2 fave irish singers.

THE ONLY SONG I LIKE HIM SINGING IS PEGGY GORDON. HE DID IT AS A DUET WITH LULU ON A B.B.C. ULSTER T.V. SHOW. LULU THOUGHT IT WAS AN IRISH SONG AND BRIAN THOUGHT IT WAS A SCOTTISH SONG. CAN ANYONE CONFIRM WHERE IT CAME FROM? PROBABLY ENGLAND! BUT I WOULD LOVE TO GET THEIR VERSION ON C.D. IF IT HAS BEEN RELEASED.
LULU CAN SING PUCCINI, I'LL STILL ENJOY HER SINGING ANYTHING.
