Charles Hanson visits Horton Tower. Humphrey Sturt (c. 1725 - 20th October 1786) was a British architect. He designed the Horton Tower in Horton, Dorset, built 1750. He was the Lord of Horton Manor and was five times returned to parliament as the MP for the county of Dorset 1745-86. He owed his wealth to his grandfather, Sir Anthony Sturt, who had been a successful business man and City of London alderman and Victualler to the Navy. Jonathan Pratt visits Stonyhurst College which is a co-educational independent, Roman Catholic school formerly considered the flagship college of the Jesuits in the English-speaking world. It is located on the Stonyhurst Estate next to the village of Hurst Green, within the civil parish of Aighton, Bailey and Chaigley in rural Lancashire, England, where it occupies a Grade I listed building. The school was founded in 1593 by Father Robert Persons SJ at St Omer, at a time when penal laws prohibited Catholic education in England.
