Internet expert Caroline McCarthy from CNET talks about the denial of service attack that hit Twitter - which was aimed at an activist blogger in the country of Georgia.
"This really highlights how small and how fragile Twitter is," she says.
According to me, it is very difficult to detect a source of DDOS attack considering the present resources. Caroline pointed out a very important fact which is worth looking into, as TWITTER's distribution system is pretty fragile as compared to to others like Facebook. This can be due to cheap or low number of caching servers used by Twitter (they have had no business model for years !) i.e. lower built-in redundancy.
