  • I cannot believe the speed with which everything happens but apparently this was exactly how it was i.e. they did it really quickly (possibly out of mercy for the victim).

  • The human race really is disgusting.

  • Thats fucked up no matter how you look at it.

  • Albert Pierpoint got exection down to a fine art. It was normal for the condemmed man to be dead within 10 seconds of his entry into the chamber. With lethal injection it often takes over half an hour from entry into the execution chamber to extinction of life. One can argue that whichever method was used the death penalty had become sanitised. While most people seem to prefer lethal injection to hanging, I would favour the latter due to it's swiftness. Derek however shouldn't have hanged.

  • @MrHalodude779 The Idea was to dispatch the man/woman as fast as is possible, no walking down long corridors or waiting for the time to tick away before the execution. The hangman, his assistant and the governor would wait outside the cell till the hour was reached, when they entered the cell the hangman was in charge of the execution he didn’t have to wait for a signal, just do the job. Albert Pierrepoint the hangman took just 15 seconds on average from start to finish.

  • Watching this without crying is impossible. At least for me it is...

  • @Blabloo72 You are entitled to your opinion of course but I for one am glad we no longer have capital punishment, statistics actually show that numbers of fatal UK crimes haven't changed since the 1940's. Infact all such crimes have fallen in the last twenty years, so a lack of capital punishment is not proof that the kind of crimes on which this film centres go wildly out of control as you suggest.

  • so sad i felt like i had been shot when he was hung so quickly

  • I watched the film about albert pierrpoint and read the book. He was the expert in that field. But i wonder how many were botched ....

  • @type42sheff Barbaric? I guess that's why we live in the lovely, beautiful, peaceful, wonderful society we now live in where there is no ultimate penalty for even a person who kills a Policeman or even the Prime Minister. We have forensic (indisputable) evidence these days -it's got to come back! But I agree it's bad to look at.

  • Barbaric. Thank god we abolished it.

  • Was the person being protrayed Raymond Snowden who was featured on Ghost Adventures?
