hi where did you find that purple ball thats hanging in the ceiling? And does she go in it to play?

love her talking,. it is amazing how much they can say, I have two that talk back and forth to each other. One has a thick yellow nape the other only a small patch and they are only one month apart. I thought the nape feathers came in thicker each year as they age but I saw mines go from none to a thick patch in one year. Wanda loves to sing, they are so much fun, I love the bungy rope you have for her

Our yellow nape is setting in the same room as the computer and she is setting here wondering what the hell I'm listening to. I think she knows its another parrot. They're so funny. Cute bird XD!

It's so hard to get them talking sometimes. You did really good with the volume. I have such a hard time picking up my tiels tiny voice.

Hi Jayde, you have come a long way since I knew you as a baby!! You are sooo pretty!
Thank you... she was young then too. She talks so much more now. All YNA have difference in nape coloring. Jayde's came in about a year to a year and a half and she has kept what she has gotten. Others take longer while not much or tons of it... LOL She loves that boing, I think you can find them online.. she loves to play and hang upside down. She tries to sing but prefers to talk... my blue fronted amazon loves to sing. The two always banter back and forth too... love it.

I have the same parrot, working on the speaking, I talk to him all the time, sun up to sundown. he makes animal sounds so I know he will speak, he can not be that old because he would of picked up something human by now, after all, we all speak in the home, even if he had been abused as suggested, abused I have no idea, maybe lack of attention but he is healthy and well fed. someone took care of him. how long does it take for them to speak? is it ever too late? a web site put that in my head.

I don't think it is ever too late for them to learn how to talk. Obviously he wasn't talking too much cause maybe his previous home didn't work with him. They are like people though and will do what they are comfortable with. He may never talk and then maybe someday it will all come out. But no, it is never too late. If he came from a home that didn't treat him well, he may take longer as he needs to gain trust and feel comfortable in your home.

EXCUSE ME!!! Did I say "SHE" was a year old. She was only a few years old when that video was taken and I think I should know, I purchased her as a handfed baby.
The talking ability is what happens when you spend time with your pets.
