Screaming Wings, a 1942 clone, playing on the Atari 65XE 8 bit vintage gaming computer. Retro Gaming.

This is not a review, walkthrough, playthrough, or demonstration of my playing ability.
It's simply a quick demonstration of the game so that anyone not familiar with these old games can see what it looks like.

Any opinions or comments I make regarding these games should largely be taken with a pinch of salt.
They are usually based on my first impressions after a very brief play.

  • hey bro I got a question for you, there is one game I cant find and I dont remember the name of it, but I know what is it about. There is a flying green dragon thats starts off in a cave, you have to collect eggs and bring it back to the cave. But while you are doing it, you run into various monsters. You have to press the button in order to fly. Do you recognize this game by any chance? thanks man!

  • @AtariAndre42 I was referring to tape loading on both machines. The C64, pre-turbo loaders, was certainly slow. The 8-bit Atari's were even slower, though; a point often missed by commentators.

  • This beat the hell out of 1942 on the C64 !

  • @RossPK81 Only the spacebar for doing the loop, something you rarely use.

  • @MarkTheMorose The STANDARD C64 was WAAAAAAAYYYYY slower with FLOPPIES than the STANDARD Atari 8 bit machines.

  • I think you're right about the slow Atari loading. And they used to complain about the C64!

  • The thing I really don't like about this game is that you have to use keys on the keyboard as well as the joystick, which just makes things way too tricky.

  • I love this type of game, and it looks cool, but i dont think this one is a game for the colour blind, everthing just looks like a different shade of blue
