Fidola

Fidola are a duo from England and Sweden. This video shows one of their group workshops in action.

Rowan Rheingans plays fiddle, banjo and sings and Marit Fält plays låtmandola and fiddle.

They met in 2007 at Bollnäs Folkhogskola in Hälsingland, Sweeden where they both study Swedish traditional music. Fidola play music from Britain, Scandinavia and Estonia as well as their own compositions. They have played to full houses in England, Sweden and Norway, appeared on national radio in Estonia and have a summer full of workshops and concerts planned. Their music is inspired by some of the teachers they have worked with over the years such as Catriona Macdonald, Jonas Brandin, Ian Carr and Olof Misgeld.

Marit and Rowan both have experience teaching their traditions at a range of ability levels. Please get in touch for bookings for concerts or workshops.

This particular workshop in Calver, Derbyshire includes a rare sighting of a Maccann Duet concertina (played by Graham J Coyne).
