If the carrier's 3g network is compatible, Yes.
But the iPhone 3g is not compatible with T-Mobile 3g. So even after jailbreak, you will only get EDGE speed in T-Mobile. You do get 3g with AT&T

Unfortunately, no. Metro PCS uses CDMA technology, totally different from the GSM technology iPhone is built for.
