This Briggs and Stratton NR6 had a rotted out gas tank, it was also missing the carb.air cleaner, and the muffler was busted off in the block when it showed up at my place. Lord only knows how long it had been since it had last been run? I have the air cleaner, (it just does not fit right due to the gas tank being in the way), some adjusting is in order there I guess...

  • sounds like it's running pretty well!

  • @mrRhwalden Thanks!

  • Nice runner funny how its' dancing" around on the concrete..LOL!!!

  • @enginenut I think it has a mid of it's own, (at least until I get it to run smoother).

  • nice engine! I like the built in speed reduction!

  • @Aussie50 Thanks, I never thought I would get it running, the first carb I put on it kept causing the engine to conk out. After about 3 hours of messing with it, (and another carb) it finally started up and ran more then 30 seconds. But I guess that is part of it all, if it was too easy it wouldn't be as much fun!

  • Dude, thats the cutest lil engine ever!!!

  • @douro20 You got it. Thanks for stopping by!

  • @tokarev Yes I have some air cleaners. I bead blasted a bunch and am in the process of painting them. I am trying to find a way to replace the elements in those old filters. Possibly cut them open with a cutting torch to remove the old stuff to replace it.

  • I had the same basic engine minus the reducer on my first go cart. The engine came off a old reel mower that was in like new condition. This was back in the early 70's - we ran the crap out of the motor - I also learned how they work from that engine. Do you have the oil bath air cleaner? thanks for the video
