  • i dont understand why this was called a rescue when FARC combatants where around the helicopter when they flew for freedom? why they were released? can somebody explain this? is this really a rescue or a buy out freedom involving million of dollars?

  • @hardball2963 Are you also a truther? Why don't you give a read to the hostages' memoir "Out of Captivity"? There have been a number of good Spanish language books about the genesis of the plan, the preparation, and the execution. However, if you are a conspiracy theorist, nothing I say or do and no amount evidence or literature is going to convince you.

  • @sdaytonk There is no evidence of any kind of a buy out and most of the FARC leadership involved in the kidnapping and detention of these hostages have subsequently been killed or sent to prison... some buy out.

  • Beautiful Video, the pictures of freedom and hope.

Thank you very much for this!

  • You are quite welcome!

  • A Beautifull Day

  • Well, other than training, planning, equipment, intelligence, and five billion dollars worth of a wide range of support, you're right, the U.S. had very little to do with this...

  • tell me one thing is was the u.s. who save ingrid betancourt and the others?

  • I believe that the Ambassador was with them before they went to the states.

  • is that William Bromsfield talking to the american hostages?
