Eric Weinhoffer and Michael Castor of the Maker Shed discuss bad experiences with tools and how to avoid them. Tools that can help make your workspace or shop safer for you to work in are also discussed, such as avoiding things like kickback on table saws and catastrophic tangle-ups in big shop tools.

What a waste of time. If you're going to have a half hour video entitled 'Toolsday' at least show, demo and review the tools you're discussing.

One thing to add about safety is if you are working with anything that spins, DO NOT EVER WEAR GLOVES. They can catch and pull your hand and arm in. At least flesh tears off and lets you get away.

Good stuff gang. I did not know about the chlorine gas thing. I also use the puddle technique too. Thanks

The video adds nothing, so you can listen to this as a radio program, but the title is inaccurate. The first couple of minutes are "Reading Reviews of Tools We Don't Understand", and "How to Injure Yourself by Doing Stupid Things with Power Tools". I didn't listen past the first seven minutes.

I just bought a table saw for building Tardis. I ended up picking up a huge cabinet making table saw, but the guy had removed the safety guard. :-\

SawStop was invented by a patent lawyer, who claims he put in a million dollars of patent work. So yeah, it is definitely protected, but it won't be forever.

I'm a new subscriber.... I'm also an instructor in my field, so I have a 2 teensy suggestions that might help your popularity levels:

1st: Try and "hang-out" for an hour or so and make a "set list" to help streamline the conversation to be a bit more straightforward with fewer "let's see here"'s. Think of yourselves as delivering as much useful information as possible in the least amount of time.

2nd: Avoid saying these words (this does require effort): um, uh, like, whatever. :D

I'm very close to unsubscribing. The only reason I subscribed to begin with was for colin cunningham not this fuck wit and his cronies. Everytime one of these videos arrives in my feed I almost fucking cry.
