Intergroup Contact

This video is about the contact hypothesis (see Allport, 1954; Brown & Hewstone, 2005; Pettigrew & Tropp, 2006), which states that interactions between members of opposing groups should result in improved intergroup attitudes and improved intergroup relations, provided that certain conditions are met.

Contact is now one of the most widely-used social psychological interventions for the reduction of prejudice (see Oskamp & Jones, 2000).

I there a condition to what "type" of contact it has to be? E.g. does it help to just work at the same workplace, or do you have to have contact and share things about yourselves?
