Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei told the IRGC commanders Sunday morning that the national dignity and identity of the Iranian nation was a tribute to their Islamic Revolution and that Imam Khomeini, the Departed stands the topmost manifestation of the dignity.
"The Guards Corps (IRGC) too portrays the national dignity and as a matter of fact safeguards the Islamic Revolution dignity," Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding that to protect its status, the IRGC must progressively evolve while keeping its basic principles in place and deepening its religious grasp.
Ayatollah Khamenei called the Guard Corps a Divine blessing for the country and the nation, adding that the Corps has proved a blessed body in different junctures in the past 28 years, not least in the Sacred Defense period (1980-88).
"The blessing (IRGC) have served the country a lot while keeping engaged with its essence which is military services for the sake of God and being on the ready for sacrifice in the line of the goals," the IR Leader praised.
"The Guard has top on record an exceptional performance during the Sacred Defense, innovative supplying of needs on its own, preservation of revolutionary spirit in society and raising up of efficient forces," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The IR Leader touched on the ordeal of the Iranian nation under the humiliating rule of the outsiders over the country in Qajar and Pahlavid rule, adding that the nation was spared further indignity after the Islamic Revolution stroke victory.
"Imam Khomeini (Allah's blessing on him) stood a genuine manifestation of the national dignity. At time when the boastful world power were shivering by America and the ex-Soviet Union's threats, the honorable Imam pointed out 'America can not do a damn thing".
Ayatollah Khamenei emphatically attributed Imam Khomeini's sturdy manner to his profound faith and trust in God, adding any nation or country that pursues true dignity must always keep hope in the Almighty God and take its future with optimism.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the Iranian nation enjoys an unprecedented dignity at present, adding, "Even though the Iranian nation does not have Atomic bomb and keeps no intention to possess the deadly weapon, the world acknowledges it is a dignified nation because the dignity of the nation has emerged from its resolve, faith, good deed and bright goal."
The Commander-in-Chief praised the IRGC as the guard of the revolutionary-inspired dignity, adding that the corps in return receives dignity from the Islamic Revolution so that one could say the Islamic Revolution in return safeguards the IRGC.
Ayatollah Khamenei urged the IRGC ranks to preserve their faith and avoid cupidity and vanity while keeping conscious about God and the Day of Judgment.
"If the human heart is moved by desires, fears or intimidations, the body is no more of use. We must protect ourselves and this is a major duty for the Corps," Ayatollah Khamenei urged.
The IR Leader urged the corps to take lesson from the past while stepping outside it for the future. Ayatollah Khamenei urged the corps to examine its status quo and make plans for the future, putting on agenda a progressive evolvement along the same course of aspirations and basic principles it has already taken.
Ayatollah Khamenei lauded the corps for its thriving mood in the past years and urged it to stay drive even in further speeds.
"The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps must keep its popular roots as ever and for the same reason place a premium on Basij (IRGC's public-grown force) as an invaluable mainstay," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Commander-in-Chief thanked former commander general of the corps, Major General Rahim Safavi and praised its newaly-appointed Commander General Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari as a precious man who has stood associated with many services.
Major General Jafari in the same meeting vowed full preparedness on the part of the corps, adding that the IRGC had every movement inside or outside the region under surveillance and would powerfully stood up to any greedy look on the region.
