replace the head gasket

Do the mower that you think is easier.
-
it sounds like its hunting and surging
-
Jay, as I said to you a year before, I don't think there is any significant "squeaking" to be had here.

The "code" indicates a mfg. date of February 17, 1978. The rope-on-the-handle, as you indicate, is also known as the "zone start" or "extended rope start" system.

When you're at your brother's place, could you please have him get me the model, type and code #s off of the engine powering this particular lawn mower?

not too bigga deal...I brought it back here to my place about 2 months ago.
92502 0773 04 780217091(knew it was born the same year I was!) I swapped mowers a couple months ago or so the mower he has now(with the Snapper rider), is a "Longlife Imperial" (that no longer runs) I know the engine on it is a 1984 model, and instead of a "dead-man" flywheel clutch, it has a blade break, so its a vertical recoil instead of the mounted on the handle type.

Uhhh... when are you going to get your Snapper 21401 mower fixed?
ClassicTVFan82 3 years ago
I guess when my back heals up. you mean the throttle run too fast? that part? or finish rebuilding the the one just like it I started 3 or 4 years ago?
johnnyb59c 3 years ago
Both of them (particularly the 21401 I just mentioned)?

I guess I'll fix the throttle on the 214011 first. for the restoring of the other one, I have the deck repainted, but I still need a few more parts, and an engine- I'd prefer to find an original type "L-Head" Briggs 3.5-4.0 if at all possible. Some of the needed self-propel parts may still be good, but some will definitely have to be replaced
