Visual excerpt from the PBS HDTV ''Runaway Universe'', courtesy WGBH-NOVA and Tom Lucas Productions. The Adaptive Mesh Refinement simulation grid automatically refines into subgrids to develop small-scale features, generating over half a terabyte of data. We see gravitation forming nested hierarchies which vary many orders of magnitude. Tiny fluctuations in the density of the early universe are amplified into a network of interconnected filaments. Condensing gas clouds give birth to new stars and merge into whirling galaxies which congregate, collide, and interact in a fiery cosmic dance.

This is great. I remember this show on PBS in 2000, I think...I was amazed at the perspectives it gave in size and structure of the visible universe.....do you have anymore videos to share....I wish PBS put this out on DVD, but I think they only did VHS .... ??

Or maybe a comment about God. Hurrah for that one! Just out of curiosity, before anyone attacks me for my religion, answer me this: Can you explain how the gasses and material to begin the universe existed? If it existed it couldnt create itself, or any other finite material. Seems to me kinda like some other being (GOD) had something to do with the CREATION of the universe.

Sorry but, "osmosis is the movement of water molecules through a selectively-permeable membrane down a water potential gradient". They are almost entirely unrelated. The only thing I can comment on is that the potential gradient is also created by proto-galaxies which makes distant material start to fall towards it. Every point mass creates a potential gradient and so the dance continues...
