For those of you who don't know, this was the match that Agassi said he lost on purpose in his book "Open". He didn't have the stomach to face Becker in the final so he lost this match on purpose.

I understand why he did that. he didnt have the fight and emotional energy to face becker and lose.

@olaraay i know what he said in his book and based on agassi's personality i wouldnt doubt he lied either. it makes no sense to not want to face becker, its the opposite, you dont want to play a friend not someone you want to beat. who the hell travels all the way to aussie and then tanks a 5 set match? just default or pull out with an injury. whole thing smells bad
