This looks great! What do you do to keep mosquito's from breeding in your ponds. During our rainy season water sits around for days and we have to throw mosquito donuts in them.

you have a good example of what folk can do in little bits in their yards,,,, love your little rain tank, where I'm from some folk have say 4 x 10 000 litre tanks or more,,, and then send run off to swales,,,, I like your garden,,,,cool.

that is the first time I have heard real world calculations of how much rain translates into how much water. 4000 gallons is a lot of water. mother nature is so wasteful... good thing we humans are here to protect her from herself.

Yes actually we've done that but the tank holds only a fraction of what the soil will. See our Permaculture Raingarden - Suburban Design video...
